Activity Overview: Your Planned Pursuits

DAY 1 – Arrival at Podgorica/Tivat and journey to Kotor

Pick up your car at the Podgorica/Tivat airport.

You will start your journey with the drive from the airport to the 4* accommodation in Kotor. After unpacking and relaxing take a ride to Kotor Old Town. The guide will meet you at the main gate and take you on a wonderful afternoon tour of Kotor Old Town. Discover this beautiful medieval town on foot absorbing the spirit of ancient times on every step of the tour. Palaces, squares, baroque decorations, churches, cathedrals, and narrow streets are just some of the heritage of Kotor.

DAY 2 – Perast, Our Lady of the Rock and cooking class

On the second day, you will drive alongside the Bay of Kotor and reach Perast. Baroque town, nestled at the foot of St Eliah hill is one of the most picturesque places in Montenegro. The guide will meet you at the parking place. You will have a short walk in the town until you reach the dock and take a taxi boat to the island of Our Lady of the Rock. Enjoy the guided tour of the island with an included visit to the church and museum. Stories from ancient maritime times will take you to the deep history where religion and sailing activity were one. After the visit to the island, you will have free time in Perast. From here, the route will take you back to Kotor for a cooking class. The local family will allow you to enjoy and learn about the gastronomy of this area.

DAY 3 – Heartland of Montenegro

After breakfast and check out you will take one of the most spectacular panoramic roads in Montenegro called Kotor serpentine road. Take a perfect postcard photo stop at 25th Serpentine and continue from there to Cetinje, Old Royal Capital. Explore the former center of Old Montenegro with a local guide and visit the home of the last Montenegrin King from the dynasty Petrovic Njegos. King Nicholas Museum will take you back to the beginning of the 20th century and you will see how the royal family lived at that time. After the tour, you will have lunch in the village of Bajice at the lovely local household of the Martinovic family. Enjoy honey specialties and delicious liqueurs with an included lunch accompanied still by the local guide. After lunch head towards Skadar Lake at your next accommodation.

DAY 4 – Skadar Lake activity

After breakfast take a private boat cruise on the biggest lake in the Balkan peninsula. You will enjoy intact nature, numerous species of birds, and cultural, and historical sights. After the 3-hour boat ride, head towards a private winery where your host will welcome you with the local food and wine. The tradition of wine-making dates from Roman times in this region and you will have the privilege to taste some of the finest Montenegrin red, white, and rose wines.

DAY 5 – North of Montenegro

After breakfast and check out, you will be heading towards the northern part of the country. On the way to Zabljak, stop at Podgorica for a 1-hour guiding tour. Continue towards Platije Canyon and make the stop at Moraca Monastery. This beautiful medieval monastery will discover some of the finest fresco paintings.

Heads towards Kolasin and the small village of Lipovo where you will have lunch in a local rural household. There you will have a chance to taste the famous Kolasin leaf cheese. After lunch, continue to Zabljak through the deepest canyon in Europe – the Canyon of River Tara. Make a stop on the Djurdjevica Tara Bridge and enjoy some breathtaking views there.

Your final stop will be in the region of Durmitor, a small town of Zabljak. Check-in at your accommodation.

DAY 6 – Ring around Durmitor

After breakfast take one of the most beautiful panoramic roads in Montenegro, ring around Durmitor. The Durmitor Ring (Durmitorski Prsten) is an 85km circular drive and a great way to see some of Durmitor National Park’s stunning scenery. On the drive, you’ll see authentic mountain villages, shepherds with their flocks of sheep, herds of horses, and lots of dramatic mountains. At the far end of the road, stop at Katun Eco Village and have a delicious local lunch.

DAY 7 – Sweetest Goodbye

After breakfast and check out, head towards the airport.
