Tour Overview
Explore the largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula! Skadar Lake is a wildlife hot spot, a swamp of international significance, and one of the largest bird reserves in Europe.
We will visit the small charming villages of Virpazar and Rijeka Crnojevica. The lake is home to more than 270 species of birds, among them pelicans which became the symbol of the lake, but also gulls, herons, and others.
We will have the opportunity to explore the lake and its bird life during a boat ride.
Where you find birds, you also find fish. Skadar Lake is abundant in fish, especially carp, bleak, and eel. You can enjoy specialties from the lake during lunch break. It is also rich in culture as it has been inhabited for centuries as depicted by the stone ruins around it!
